Job description:
Three factory buildings including baseplate
Total volume circa 100,000 cubic metres
Decommissioning:
- Asbestos removal
- Deconstruction of the buildings
- During the deconstruction foundations and other elements of a former gasworks were unearthed
- Contamination with cyanide, filled tar basins, carbon hydride contaminated earth,railway lines with arsenic contaminated building rubble
- 35,000 tons of material separated and removed
Quantity details:
- Contaminated foundations (LAGA Z 2) circa 15,000 tons
- Carbon hydride contaminated earth circa 2,000 tons
- Tar contaminated earth circa 3,400 tons
- Tar contaminated concrete circa 1,500 tons
- Cyanide and Arsenic contaminated rubble and earth circa 1,500 tons
- Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) contaminated earth “Berliner Blau” circa 11,600 tons
